Мусор забрался на глубину 4 тыс.км.
Во время очередного океанического исследования ученые обнаружили самый обыкновенный “человеческий” мусор. Основной нюанс в том, что найден он был на дне океана глубиной 4 тысячи метров!
Было проведено около 18 тыс. часов подводных съёмок в морских глубинах рядом с Южной Калифорнией. Мусор был обнаружен в каждом из 1,5 тыс. видеороликов, запечатлевших морское дно от Ванкувера до Калифорнийского залива и Гавайских островов. А в Монтерейском заливе на максимальных глубинах было заснято более 1 150 отдельных элементов мусора.
Ученые признались, что не ожидали увидеть бытовой мусор на таких глубинах. Ориентировочно треть обнаруженных отходов оказалась пластмассовой, при этом, более половины – полиэтиленовые пакеты.
На втором месте оказался металлический мусор: алюминиевые фрагменты, стальной мусор и консервные банки.
Стоит отметить, что в условиях низких температур, нехватки солнечного света и кислорода любые отходы пролежат не одну сотню лет, прежде чем начнут разлагаться.
Убирать мусор на глубине 4 тысячи метров фактически нереально.
Шокирует другое – как мы сумели нагадить и там.
