«Мусорный художник» Вик Мунис
Бразильский художник Вик Мунис знаменит своими инсталляциями из самых неожиданных материалов, которые находит среди широкого разнообразия отходов на свалках. Все материалы для последнего проекта Муниса Scrap Metal были найдены среди мусора. С помощью металлов разной фактуры и плотности художник создаёт скульптуры рыб, птиц и животных.
Уроженец Рио-де-Жанейро, Вик Мунис в юном возрасте переехал в Нью-Йорк и стал создавать инсталляции из всего, что попадётся под руку. В частности, широко известны его репродукции знаменитых картин из остатков пищи и других органических отходов.
Ещё одним замечательным проектом стало участие художника в судьбе одного из самых огромных полигонов отходов в Южной Америке – свалке Жардим Грамашо, которая была закрыта в 2012 году. Мунис создал серию портретов работников полигона – катадоров, и прославил Жардим Грамашо настолько, что о мусорщиках вышел документальный фильм «Свалка». Фильм удостоился ряда наград на международных фестивалях.
