Около 5% всех мировых отходов составляет одежда. В настоящее время многие модные марки обращаются к политике экологически оправданного бизнеса и отказываются от использования токсинов и других вредных веществ в создании одежды. Швейцарская марка Freitag обратилась к разработке экологически чистой рабочей одежды.
Первостепенной задачей для представителей Freitag стала разработка экологически чистой и легко перерабатываемой ткани. В итоге долгих поисков оптимального материала была создана ткань F-Abric. В её основу входят волокна льна, конопли и целлюлозы, – создатели особо подчеркивают, что всё сырьё было собрано в радиусе 4000 километров от Цюриха. Предусматривается, что уровень химических веществ при выращивании и обработке растении максимально снижен.
После удаления молний, пуговиц и кнопок, одежда Freitag может быть превращена в компост в течение нескольких месяцев.
